Dudus Jamaica’s most wanted man has been caught, it is said he was held while being transported in a vehicle in the fisrt capitol of Jamaica; Spanish Town.

               Other reports are that;  The fugitive was handed over to police by Reverend Al Miller and is prepared to commit himself to due process and waive his right to an extradition hearing. Christopher ‘Dudus’ Coke is now being held at Spanish Town Police Station in St Catherine.

             The police station has been ringed by soldiers who have taken up strategic positions. Curious onlookers have begun gathering outside the police station.
Coke is wanted by the United States on gun and drug trafficking charges.

                  A $5 million dollar reward was recently placed for information leading to his arrest.

The entertainment fraternity  mourns the passing of Oneil “Voicemail” Edwards.

Oneil Edwards was shot several times and critically injured at his home in Duhaney Park.

 One of his assailants has since been found dead and another held by police. A third remains at large. Born May 8, 1974, O’Neil a new father, is survived by his six-week-old daughter, his life partner, his mother, five sisters and four brothers.

COBRA

Popular entertainer Cobra whose real name is Ewart Everton Brown, was admitted to the Spanish Town hospital after receiving two gunshot wounds to his shoulders. It is said that; he was shot no sooner than he had stopped his car to speak to someone in a section of Braeton Phase One. Police reports further claim that the incident occurred about 7 p.m. on Tuesday. Cobra after being shot drove himself to the hospital, where he was admitted and received medical attention. Members from the music industry and politicians came out to show their concern for the entertainer.

This incident is the second of its nature within 2 days where an entertainer was shot. Oneil of voicemail who is still in critical condition

Oneil Edwards, a member of the group Voicemail was shot several times early Monday morning at his Duhaney Park home. Oneil has since been in hospital in critical condition.

 The US Embassy is in the process of revoking the visas of 5 popular Jamaican Entertainers namely – Garfield Augustus McKoy aka Ricky Trooper, Moses Anthony Davis otherwise called Beenie Man, Sheldon Ricardo Aitana Lawrence also known as Aidonia, David Constantine Brooks popularly known as Mavado and Rodney Basil Price aka Bounty Killa. The document also shows that some of the artistes are in possession of more than one visas. The Document reads: The Embassy of the United States in Kingston, Jamaica is in the process of REVOKING the visas of the following citizens of Jamaica. The people mentioned here currently hold a U.S. Visa that we have not yet been able to physically cancel.

Portmore Empire  headVybz Kartel has described his former protégé, Blak Ryno, as a confused individual after his recent departure from the crew.Speaking to THE WEEKEND STARyesterday, Kartel discussed his reaction to Ryno’s abrupt departure from the Portmore Empire on Wednesday, of which he has been a member since January 2007.priorities mixed Kartel said: “Ryno is, in my analysis, a confused individual going through some sort of post-adolescence trauma, where in his pursuit to find himself is getting his priorities mixed up and as a result, is making decisions in a subconscious, bewildered state of mind.”The deejay further said that: “Portmore Empire and Gazawill continue to grow from strength to strength merely because I am Gaza.”According to Kartel, persons can look out for his newest member Gaza Slim and his protégé Popcaan.The Portmore Empire started in 2007 after Kartel’s departure from the Alliance in 2006. The Empire have consisted of members such as Popcaan, Singa Blinga, Dosa Medicine, Lisa Hype, Shawn Storm, Gaza Indu, Sheba, Jah Vinci among others.Blak Ryno was an original member of the Portmore Empire and was seemingly one of the closest to Kartel, often citing him as a major influence and called him ‘daddy’ on numerous occasions.Ryno is the third deejay to have departed the Empire recently, the first being Lisa Hype, now called Lisa Hyper. Hyper was dismissed from the Empire late last year shortly after a compromising picture of the deejay began circulating on the Internet.In January newcomer to the Empire, Gaza Kim – now known as Kym, willingly left the Empire after an incident which took place in the ‘Big Yard’ community off Mannings Hill Road. Kym was severely beaten on what sources say were orders by Kartel. Kartel later denied any involvement.

  It has been reported that shots were fired on the house of Black Ryno. This incident occurred just a few days after Black Ryno publicly announced that he has left the the Portmore Empire . Speculations are that Vybz Kartel, the leader of the Portmore Empire had something to do with the assault. No one was injured in the shooting.

Rumors have been circulating that members of the Empire have been beaten, mistreated and under paid. Black Ryno contacted a credible news paper and confirmed that he has left the Empire, however denied rumors of any abuse.Ryno states that there is still love between him and the Empire family.

Beenie Man who was booked as the only Reggae act to be apart of an event called ‘Big Day Out’ in New Zealand, has been kicked off the line up due to pressure from gay groups.

Internet reports say that New Zealand MP Kevin Hague was among those objecting to the inclusion of the King of the Dancehall based on his anti-gay lyrics. Hague noted that hate-mongering is not welcome in New Zealand, and reportedly urged the Big Day Out to uninvite Beenie

Leave it to Dancehall artiste Spice to always delivering controversy at its best, this time by the name of; ‘ Chattie Back’. This  song counteracts ‘Gal A Whe Mi Do Yuh?’ (Do Mi Dat) by Vybz Kartel featuring Sheba. Lyrical punches where thrown at Vybz Kartel in response to lines in ‘Do Mi Dat’.

Jah Cure

Siccature Alcock popularly know as Jah Cure on Saturday, was in the custody of  Trinidad and Tobago’s police or so it is rumored. It is alleged that he owed a businessman $20,000 and would not be able to preform until arrangements were made about the payment. Jah Cure who arrived in the country to perform at the event Cure Again at Pointe-a-Pierre, Guaracara Park.

The media, that of Trinidad & Tobago had a frenzy after getting word that Jah Cure was arrested. One such website was www.guardian.co.tt, the on-line version of newspaper The Trinidad Guardian. The article on that website read:

“Jamaican reggae superstar Jah Cure (Siccature Alcock) was arrested at the Hyatt Hotel at 7:30 last (Saturday) night. He was held following a court order issued by Justice Sebastian Ventor for failure to pay US$19,993 to a local businessman. Jah Cure would only have been able to perform at the event if he was able to pay the money in cash or sign a security bond for the amount owed. Jah Cure was recently released from jail in Jamaica after serving nine years for rape.”

Publicists for local reggae sensation Jah Cure, are denying Internet reports that Cure was arrested in Trinidad on Saturday night, after being slated for a show in that island.
